My experience in cricket lasted about 20 - 25 years and then for 5 years I have been a commentator. As MP also I have crossed 5 years and if I want to compare my 30 years and 3 years in Laughter Challenge, the 3 years have been very memorable. There is no permanent name and fame than the endeavor to give happiness to mankind eibadat nahi sirf mala ko gumadena eibadat hain kisi bhuke ko roti khila dena kisi rote hua ko hasa dena kisi ujde hue ko basadena.These 3 years have given me a new name. Earlier people used to call me “Sixer Sidhu” but now they call me “Oye Guru Hoja Shuru..” So my identity has changed though I owe everything to cricket, Laughter Challenge has given me an identity and there are certain small ideas that bring some change. In India people had forgotten how to laugh but Laughter Challenge has given people a new life. Through this program people have forgotten their sorrows and I can say “jo hum hasoge toh duniya hasegi rovoge tum to na rogi duniya..I’m very happy that nowadays in every TV channel there are comedy shows. I think all the credit goes to Laughter Challenge and I must say that Laughter Challenge is the seed that has given rise to the fruit of laughter in India. I’m very happy with this change which I can say was needed.

Do you think humour is important in our lives?

Humour is an emotion which is the most important part of a man’s life. It is said that there are two emotions – to cry and to laugh. If somebody dies in the family then one has to cry. But I believe whoever has the ability to make others laugh is an angel.

What do you think about the contestants this season?

This Laughter Challenge is very different because woman power has never dominated the show so much. There are three woman contestants Bharti, Rajbir and Sugandha who have shown that women too can make people laugh. According to me this Laughter Challenge 4 is woman dominated.

And Shatruganji?

Shatru bhai is an institution in himself and a well known actor. He has his own personality. I know my limitations so I don’t encroach much upon his territory. We do discuss about Laughter Challenge though.
